Good Yellowfin Tuna Bite in Kona
Kona Fishing ReportBrad Simon joined us on an afternoon 6-hour Kona fishing charter this week. The full moon, great weather conditions and good currents all came together to provide a consistent afternoon of fishing with several bites that day for multiple species. Brad ended up landing this 140-pound Ahi tuna after pulling the hooks on a Blue Marlin and another nice Ahi that day.
The Summer months of June through September are the peak season for Blue Marlin and Yellowfin Tuna here in Kona Hawaii. The Yellowfin Tuna in Kona generally run up to 200+ pounds and several good-sized Blue Marlin in the 500-pound class have been showing up recently. If you are planning a trip to Hawaii later this year and plan on visiting the Big Island, be sure to check our current availability on our website and book your Kona Fishing Charters early as we are already booking well into 2020. Demand is high and fishing remains consistent.
